Sew Sore!

A few weeks ago my mom and I were browsing around in the craft section of Wal-Mart and I found a little kit to make a duffle bag. All you have to do is cut out all of the pieces and then sew them together. That can't be too hard! Yeah, so this is my second night working on the bag and I'm on step 2. Last night I sewed the body of the bag to the zipper. Not too bad looking....and it was my first time ever sewing a zipper so I'm kind of happy. Tonight I started working on the straps to the bag. The straps are long, narrow pieces of fabric that you fold in half and then sew shut so it's a long tube. I guess that's the best way to describe it. Then you turn the tube inside out, which hides the seam on the inside and shows the pretty side of the fabric. Yeah, turning it inside out is a bitch. I've worked about 1 1/2 hours on this and I'm not done with one strap! My poor little fingers are hurting! Oh well...I'm sure when this bag is done all this time will have been worth it...right?
